Additional info on travel in Thailand:

  • All students MUST carry travel/medical insurance. Tourist accidents happen frequently in Thailand ((scooter accident, dog bits, cuts, illness, etc) and Inspired Life Academy accepts no responsibility for student’s medical costs. We recommend World Nomads travel insurance available via online search.

Getting to Koh Phangan: There are three ways to get to Koh Phangan:

By Plane: We recommend flying Nok Air or Air Asia from BKK or Kuala Lumpur. They offer a combined flight, bus, and ferry package that works very efficiently and is affordable. If you book in advance these flights/bus/ferry packages can be very cheap. These work very well and is the most recommended.

Direct flights to Koh Samui are also available on Bangkok Air but are more expensive.
By overnight Train: Overnight train from BKK or Penang, Malaysia is also an interesting trip for those who are inclined. Cost is around 35 Euro, but trains often sell out a few days before so be sure to book with several days advance.

By Bus: Buses run frequently from BKK included overnight bus. This is a long bus ride, over 12 hours and only recommended for those comfortable with long bus rides and can sleep on the bus. Cost is similar to the train.
